Little People Sweet Sounds Home

(Click for larger image)

We went to Torksey today and we bought another Little People house for Emma. This time its The Little People Sweet Sounds Home. Its complete with all parts and still has working batteries in! Emma is playing with it now, although the upper story is currently occupied by a Little People Giraffe lol - but thats the beauty of buying as many items in a range as you can, it is all interchangeable!

We paid £3 for it, not bad for a £25 purchase price and its still on sale today!

Bucket of Duplo Bricks

(Click for larger image)

Although Emma likes bricks, she can't really build yet. I have been collecting cheap Duplo and Logo ready for when she can. I picked up this bucket and bricks at Torksey on Saturday for £1!

Fisher Price Little People Track

(Click For Larger Image)

We popped into our local charity shop (one of the few I like) today and I spotted this Little People set, I'm not sure what its called (help anyone please?) so I can't find it on the internet, it has a level crossing missing and the train engine, but otherwise seems complete.

Looking at the styles of the crossings I think its a way of linking different Little People sets together (Dolls house, Farm, Garage etc.)

Because they acknowledged the missing parts, they only charged me £1, pretty good I think! Emma has loads of different Little People sets already, so its a nice addition.

Disney 102 Dalmtaions DVD

We went to North Scarle car boot this morning, it was quite a poor day, all we picked up was this Disney DVD 102 Dalmtaions for the kids.

Still its not a bad deal for £1

Ten Doctor Who Figures

Torksey boot today was full, almost no room for more stalls, thats often means good pickings :) I found this collection of Doctor Who Action Figures (I collect them), There are no rare ones, but there is about £65 worth of them.

And you'll never believe the price I paid, £2 the lot, thats just 20p each! Unbelievable!

Thats about 80 I have now lol!

Little Tykes Large Dolls House

(Click for larger image)

I got hold of this on Wednesday, the car boot was called off because of rain, I spotted this outside our community center that has just been upgraded to a Surestart building.

It was put out with the rubbish, so I threw it into the car as fast as I could, when we got home we noticed it was very filthy, but only with dust, so it went for a shower! Now its nice and clean.

Its pretty big, about 24" wide and 18" deep plus 24" tall. It doesn't have any furniture or figures, I suspect its for figures about 4"-5" tall, but Emma plays with it with her Little People figures (about 2" tall). I can't find a weblink for it, but from the style etc. I think its about 20 years old.

My initial thoughts where I'd give it away on DontDumpThat if Emma doesn't like it, but she loves it, she has played with it every day, most of the day since I got it, she has even climbed onto the roof :) When she outgrows it I'll put it on DontDunpThat, to let another child have fun with it. I Hate to see usable items thrown out. I'm a real believer in reusing (hence this blog).

Sickle AKA The Slaughterhouse Massacre DVD

I got Sickle (AKA The Slaughterhouse Massacre) DVD on Saturday from Torksey too, its a budget horror, but I like this stuff :)

I paid £1 for it, I think its a budget re-release, but I didn't have it, so its a fair addition to the collection!

Tuesday, 22 April 2008

The Amityville Horror DVD

I got this on Saturday, its the original version of The Amityville Horror, on two DVDs.

It stars James Brolin, a pre-breakdown Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger in this late 1970s chiller.

I paid £1 for it, I think its a good deal!

Fisher Price Turbo Tail Tigger & Tumble Time Tigger

We have just got a Fisher Price Turbo Tail Tigger and a Fisher Price Disney Tumble Time Tigger for my daughter from DontDumpThat. They are like new too and Emma loves them, in fact we all love the Turbo Tail Tigger!

As they are from DontDumpThat they where free, as everything given away on this site has to be free. Perhaps you think this is a bad deal? But if you give away, others happily give you items you request, I suggest you consider joining now, a direct link to the Lincoln forum is here and the find a forum in your area is here. You also get to chat to other people in your area, some forums are pretty busy!

So we got £50 worth of toys for free, what a good deal!

Old Mother Riley Collection Box Set

I got the Old Mother Riley Collection Box Set from Torksey on Saturday, these where classic b/w movies I saw on TV throughout my childhood, it was good to find them, now all I need is to find time to watch them :)

The included movies are; Old Mother Riley MP, Old Mother Riley In Paris, Old Mother Rileys New Venture, Old Mother Rileys Jungle Treasure, Old Mother Riley Meets The Vampire and Old Mother Riley Headmistress.

They all star Arthur Lucan as Old Mother Riley unlike other female impersonators like Danny La Rue and Lily Savage, Lucan plays a non effeminate and non sexual old lady. I found them funny, I wonder if I will still?

This set is selling for £30, I paid £1.50 :)

Little People Fire & Rescue Set

(Click for larger image)

We got this at Torksey today, Little People Fire & Rescue Set, sadly the "set" parts are missing, but where only two small vehicles and four people, however, each time I have seen this they are missing, so I've given up and bought it as it is!

Emma has loads of spare vehicles and people anyhow, she likes the opening doors and the emergency noises it makes!

And how much was this? Just £1

The City Of Lost Children DVD

In Poundland today I found a copy of The City Of Lost Children DVD, still shrinkwrapped. Theres not much else to say other than it cost £1!

Wednesday, 16 April 2008

Spiderman 2 & ET DVDs

We bought these at Torksey today, Spiderman 2 Special 2 Disc Edition and E.T. The Extra Terrestrial Special Edition. Both come on two DVDs and both are in great condition!

And I paid £1 each, pretty good I think :)

A quick note about DVDs, all I buy are originals, NEVER pirate copies, all are in good condition, never scratched. I also recommend buyers check that the DVD inside the case matches the cover, I've found titles inside are not what the cover says and even the DVD is missing. Any DVD with more then a few tiny scratches should be left on the stall!

Little People Construction Vehicle Dumpety the Dump Truck

(Click for larger image)

This is the last one we found at North Scarle on Sunday. This is a Little People Construction Vehicle: Dumpety the Dump Truck. If you press the person, the yellow tipper section tips and some sounds play.

These are £15 in the shops, I paid £1.50 and that included batteries! Emma is getting a lot of Little People now, she really likes them!

Weebleville Town Center

(Click For Larger Image)

At North Scarle on Sunday, we found this Weebleville Town Center, when you put batteries in, the circles on the base all spin and its pretty funny watching Emma trying to pick something up off it, she just isn't fast enough!

I have to say Weebles have changed a lot since the 1970s, they no longer look like eggs, they are still weighted at the bottom, I think the old ones where better though! Now I'm looking for an old style Weebles Tree House :)

This was £30 in the shops, we paid £3 for it, the only missing part was one Weeble!

Little People Musical Ferris Wheel

At Torksey yesterday I found this, its a Little People Musical Ferris Wheel , plus a Little People Garage Truck (the vehicle doesn't belong with the wheel, it comes from the garage set, but who cares lol). Two "props" that go with the wheel are missing, but you don't need these anyhow. Emma has spent a long time playing with this already. BTW I added the people for the photograph, this came with no people.

I think I got a good deal, I paid 80p for the pair! I got another Little People toy today At North Scarle and a Weeble set too. More about these soon.

Kill Bill Volume 2 & Bo Selecta Season 3 DVDs

The last ones I picked up on Wednesday at Torksey.

Kill Bill Volume 2 & Bo Selecta Season 3 DVDs. I was very pleased with these, as I already had Kill Bill Volume 1 & Bo Selecta Season 2 & Bo Selecta Season 1, also from car boots! After a while there is no need to buy new DVDs, you just pick them up cheap as they become available!

I paid £1.50 each for them, as I wanted to complete the Bo Selecta series (its on 2 DVDs anyhow), and I wanted Volume 2 of Kill Bill before I watch them both back-to-back :)

Monster & The Machinist DVDs

In town today called onto Poundland, Lincolns only real poundshop, they had a lot of new DVDs in, I had most of them (Bride of Chucky, The Hillside Strangler, House of 1000 Corpses etc.), but I found these two that needed adding to my collection.

Monster Starring Charlize Theron and The Machinist Starring Christian Bale.

Still shrink-wrapped, perfect condition, just £1 each, what more can I say?

Yesterday at Torksey I Picked these DVDS up, Batman Mystery Of The Batwoman, Justice League Justice On Trial, and Justice League Starcrossed The Movie. All are in perfect condition. They where for sale at Christmas locally for £2.99 each, I got them a lot cheaper.

I paid just 50p each, I'm a big superhero fan, especially Batman, so Its worth 50p to watch them!

A Different Little People Farm

(Click for larger image)

We found this Little People Farm on Monday in a charity shop, it has a few missing parts and no animals, but if you put this with Emmas other Little People farm, its a barn for the animals to live in! She has load of Fisher Price Little People and animals anyhow. This also closes up and has a handle to carry it about. Theres more about it here, just search for model number 2590.

The picture shows it open, closed front and closed back.

We paid £3 for it, but it is over 10 years old and we haven't seen the anywhere before. Emma likes it, which is the important thing!

I bought some cheap DVDs from Torksey today, more about them next time!

Six DVDs This weekend

I bought six DVDs this weekend, from Harby and Torksey.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning, Outlaw, Commando, The Business, Sin City and Green Street. I've managed to watch two already and now I'm a Nick Love fan too, I recommend his movies to anyone who likes gang violence :)

All cost me just £1 each and they are in good condition too. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning is the Uncut two DVD version! I'm hoping to watch more this week, before I buy more :)

Little Tykes Plastic Garden Playhouse

(Click for larger Image)

We got Emma a plastic playhouse for free from a kind member of DontDumpThat. A few weeks ago a friend told me about how he got one from Freecyclers but it was a bit big for his garden so we agreed to swap.

This weekend we finally got it assembled, its about 4foot high and 5foot square, some windows have working shutters and the stable style door works too, there is also a pull down cooker lol. I've had a good search on the internet for a link to it, all I can establish is its a few years old and out of production. there are some on ebay, but thats all! The only missing part is the play telephone, but thats no great problem!

Emma thinks its fantastic, she started laughing with excitement when she saw it and enjoys opening and closing the shutters to the windows!

Little People style House

(Click for larger image)

Here is the other item I bought with the Little People Garage, I don't think its "real" little people, but its very good quality. It makes sounds too, if you sit someone in the chair, the TV comes on and you can flush the toilet too :)

I have searched on the internet and I can't find out what this is and there is no makers name on it even!

As I said yesterday, I paid £3 for the Little People Garage and got her to throw this in, so how much as it? - just £1, not bad eh?

We went to Harby car boot this am, it was very small, its usually pretty big, but it was pretty cold! I got some DVDs at a very good price, more about them next time!

Little People Garage

Today it was Torksey Car Boot, It was a bit rainy, but I figured it was worth going and I'm very pleased we did!

I found this, the Little People Garage, I've just put new battries in (for sound effects) and its now in full working order and its complete too! I didn't haggle over the price as I got her to throw in another Little People item at a cheap price :) More about that next time!

And how much did I pay for this? Just £3 - Bargain!

Friday, 4 April 2008

Mini Hotpoint Toy Washing Machine

We got a Mini Hotpoint Toy Washing Machine from Torksey on Wednesday, I've only just got round to servicing it, it had a rattle! The rattle turned out to be Lego inside the machine, which has been added to the Lego box!

We have put batteries in and it works! The sale price is £25, we paid 75p lol. It goers with Emmas toy kitchen! The laundry basket and small soap-powder box are missing, but these aren't important anyhow.

Thursday, 3 April 2008

Scooby Doo & The Pirate Ghost

We got this book "Scooby Doo & The Pirate Ghost" Wednesday at Torksey, my daughter loves all these kind of books (electronic press button (after the pianos). It probably wasn't a major bargain, but it was worth what we paid - £1.

I can't find a link to it anywhere, its perhaps a UK only publication?

DVDs and Viz

Its Wednesday, so its time for Torksey Car boot!

I have been collecting the Viz annuals for about two years, I used to have them all, but sold them all on ebay in a moment of weakness! I'm trying to collect the whole series again. I added another missing one today, I need one more then I have all the anthologies up to issue 100 (the annuals are really anthologies of the comics, not new material). I am paying less for them now than I got on ebay lol!

I also bought two DVDs Underworld Evolution and Bedazzled Special Edition. This problem I have with DVDs is I buy more then I can watch, although my neighbour finds my collection a useful library, which I am happy about :)

Everything was in great condition and everything was just £1 each, another pretty good deal!

Readers Digest The Story of Where You Live

Every Monday we try to visit our local charity shop, normally I'm not a big fan of them, I understand most only donate 20% of what they raise to charity and the goods to sell are free as are the shop workers. Sorry, but I smell a rat!

However our local charity shop is for a local charity and I understand all raised goes to it (after shop rent etc.), although I'd buy from any if the price was right!

There was a book sale today, all books 20p, I found this one Readers Digest The Story of Where You Live, a £27 book and it is in as new condition! I can't say I was ripped off :)

I also bought a book about Tropical fish and one about cake icing too (a project we are working on lol), but the above was the bargain of the day!
