Loads of Lego & 1980s Mad Magazine
(Click for larger Image)
Torksey was pretty small today, not many sellers or buyers, these are the days I like best, theres always bargains to be had! Remember size isn't important, its content!
I got40 issues of Mad Magazine from the early 1980s and a 60% full stacker box (with lid) of Lego, there is some Star Wars stuff in there and some very strange looking pieces too! Fortunately there are a few web sites with scans of original Lego instructions for download including the Lego homepage!
I paid £4 for the Lego, not bad considering the stacker box with lid is like new too! I'll put it with the rest of the Lego for when Emma is older!
The Mad Magazines where £2 the lot, not bad for early 1980s, in good condition. They'll probably end up in the loft after I have read them, in 20 years they may fetch a good price lol!
I also got a few kids DVDs cheap, more about them tomorrow!

I picked up these this weekend, a Little People School Bus with batteries but no people included but we have dozens! A Little People swing and a stall and a blue battery operated train with two people, this is pretty good as it goes along the carpet on its own. I can't find anything about it, but it is defiantly Little People!
I paid £2 the lot, I think this is a good deal!

I know I have mentioned DDT before, and will again, but we have given a lot of items away on here and had a lot in exchange, you really ought to check it out1 Just go the the DDT homepage and find a group in your area, I admit we are lucky, there is one in Lincoln!

National Geographic Rock Tumbler
As a little boy in the late 1960s, I was on holiday one summer in Colwyn Bay in North Wales, I saw a rock tumbler and I wanted one, it was no great shock that I didn't get one! Over the years I've kept a watch as to how much they are, always finding them more then I wanted to spend (considering I don't want to make jewelery etc!)
At Torksey on Wednesday I found a National Geographic Rock Tumbler, still boxed and unused for £5! Well it took me about 40 years, but I found a cheap one lol!

I haggled and paid her £4.50 the lot, not bad considering there is a Disney Title in there! All are in good condition.

Eragon DVD
I bought Eragon DVD today from Torksey, it wasn't as big as the last few weeks, probably about 66% full, the prices weren't as good either, although a lot of people where asking prices and then walking away, so it wasn't just me!
I paid £1.50 for it, its in as new condition, so it was a good deal!

Buy Keep Or Sell By Judith Miller
I got Buy Keep Or Sell By Judith Miller yesterday at Torksey, normally I don't go for price guides, since even the most up to date one will prove to be wrong as soon as you look at ebay, most prices are immediately halved, and occasionally one of life's curve balls prove they can fetch ten times the book price!
I've sat and had a read, its really good, a pinch of salt helps with the prices but you can see if something should be Bought Kept Or Sold :)
The price? Just 50p and its in great condition!

Two Play Pianos

Rotring Isograph Pen Set
I found this at Torksey on Saturday, some of you probably don't recognise it, its an artists pen set, its also used for writing on plastics or anything that accepts paint. I used to write and draw on 30mm Warhammer figures, when I sold my old Isograph pen I got a tenner for it!
This set contains seven pans with different size nibs, ink and other parts. I don't think he knew what it was worth (the current equivalent sells for over £100, when I asked how much it was and he said £1 I snapped his hand off! ! - Bargain!

Digital Photographers Handbook By Tom Ang
As regular readers will know, I am not a fan of charity shops, IMHO they generally overcharge etc. However there is one three minutes from my house, and its cheap!
We go to the supermarket on Monday mornings and generally pop in on the way home. Today I found this bargain, Digital Photographers Handbook By Tom Ang. It sells new for up to £25, I paid 20p for it, I wasn't burned, if it was from Oxfam they would have charged a couple of quid as a minimum!!

Three DVDs
We went to North Scarle Car Boot today, arrived at 9am and cars where queuing to get into the car park and stall holders had already been turned away because the field was full. Fortunately we found somewhere to park just outside.
We didn't pick much up there, although it was big, we didn't find anything we wanted really. But I did find these three DVDs.
American History X, Sultans of Swing the very best of Dire Straits, and Big Brother & the Holding Company Nine Hundred Nights. All are in great condition and where cheap, the music ones where £1.50 each, American History X was just £1!
